Master Gardener Class

 ____________________________________________________________

The Highland Lakes Master Gardeners will be starting a new class to become a Master Gardener on February 18, 2009.  The classes this year will be held at First United Methodist Church Activity Center in Marble Falls on Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 5 PM  for 10 weeks.  Please check out the "about us" page to get an idea about the Master Gardener Program.  It doesn't matter if you are experienced or are new to gardening, you will really enjoy this experience.  The instructors are some of the best in the state with many being Texas A & M Professors.  You will learn how to have a successful garden in the Texas hill country. You will be required to participate in some fun gardening activities in the community to be certified.  With activities like Farmers Market, Rose Test Garden, local gardening projects in Burnet County and Kingsland, Green Thumb Program, and the Hill Country Lawn & Garden Show you will have your 50 hours in no time.  The cost for the entire program will be $125 which will include all course materials, refreshments, club dues and a soil test.  Class size is limited so get your application in right away.  To download an application, go to the HOME page links section and click on HLMG forms and applications.  Please contact the Burnet County Extention Office at (512) 756-5463 for further information. You will need to apply in November or December to secure a spot.  Watch the newspapers for announcements of the classes.  Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you in February.  In the meantime, be sure and look for our Green Thumb programs in Burnet, Marble Falls and Kingsland.  You can read about the Green Thumb Program on the"Green Thumb Program" page.  For questions about the class please use the form below.
